GRADE

GRADE

Scantling is classified into two categories, depending on the combinations of glued solid or fingerjointed lamellas:

Solid — the inner lamella of scantling is spliced into a fingerjoint (short length min = 150 mm). External lamellae are solid. It is allowed to make scanling glued from three solid lamellae.
Scantling is classified into two categories, depending on the combinations of glued solid or fingerjointed lamellas:

Solid — external lamellas are always solid.
The inner lamellas could be:
- finger jointed (min allowed distance between finger jointed places is 150 mm)
- finger jointed and edge glued
- solid

Category 1 - solid
Fingerjointed — all outer and inner lamellas are finger jointed:

- min allowed distance between finger jointed places in outer lamellas is 250 mm

All scantlings of the 1st and 2nd category are defects free.

Exceptions:

- occasional pin knots and sapwood in the "special zone":
max 20 mm in the width at one of the outer lamellas always oriented to the same edge
(subsequently removed during the final window profiling)

- inner lamellas could have an occasional sound knots with max diameter of 20 mm not going to outside

PACKING
AND LOADING

In transport bags with boards of the same size and grade, tightened by PET tape with packing bars, cardboard, plastic corners or wooden gaskets are installed under the tape to avoid damage to the shield.
The transport package is covered on 6 sides with a film that protects the material from damage. Each package is marked with a label indicating the manufacturer, grade and size of the shield.

Truck loading is carried out by a folk lift. We always use plastic angles under the fixing belts during the loading a truck.
